Three kiosks, less reliance on staff, average spend +28%.
A staff member who didn't show up on a Friday evening used to be a problem. With three ordering kiosks next to the counter, the shop can now run with fewer people at the front. Orders land natively in Vectron, the kitchen keeps moving.
Staffing risk was the real exposure. Three kiosks take that risk away and lift the average spend at the same time.
What they wanted
- Lower reliance on staffing during peak hours.
- A staff no-show shouldn't break the service anymore.
- Shorter waits during Friday and Saturday evenings.
- Orders keep flowing through Vectron, no second system.
How it unfolded
From first conversation to live.
- 1
Intake call
We measure the current peak: orders per hour on Friday and Saturday, average basket size, sauce and portion mix. Three kiosks turns out to be the right capacity for the rush.
- 2
POS partner alignment
A short check with the Vectron systems integrator to activate the API endpoint. Modifier structure (sauce, portion, extras) and PLU hierarchy validated.
- 3
Setup and connection
Three ordering kiosks installed next to the counter, plugged straight into Vectron. Automatic upselling per category enabled (sauce after main, drink after order). Staff trained briefly.
- 4
Go live
First Friday evening live, three kiosks running in parallel, one person backup at the counter. From the second service, the shop runs autonomously.
How we solved it
- Three ordering kiosks next to the counter, connected directly to Vectron via the official API.
- Automatic upselling per category: sauce after main, drink and dessert after the payment step.
- Orders land as regular Vectron tickets, GKS-compliant, same reporting.
- Staff back at the fryer, one person at the counter is enough for walk-ins who don't want a kiosk.
Outcome
- The three kiosks together run roughly EUR 55,000 per month.
- Average spend +28% per order vs counter orders.
- Shorter waits on Friday and Saturday evenings, customers don't bail.
- Less pressure on the staffing rota: a no-show during peak no longer breaks the service.
